What Does Dominant Terpene Mean?
A dominant terpene is usually the terpene reported in the greatest amount within a stated analysis or profile. The claim only makes sense when the measurement and comparison basis are clear. The most abundant measured terpene is not necessarily the compound making the strongest contribution to perceived aroma.
Different compounds can be noticeable at very different concentrations, and an analysis may omit other important aroma constituents. When choosing a blend, consider the full profile and evaluate a sample. “Limonene-dominant” can help organise a shortlist, but it is not a complete flavour description or a substitute for the intended-use assessment.
