Terpene Allergen Declarations

An allergen declaration gives information about specified allergenic substances relevant to an ingredient and its intended application. It is not the same document as a general composition list or a statement that a material is “natural”. The relevant requirements depend on the finished product and the market in which it is sold.

For cosmetics, ask for information that enables the responsible formulator and safety assessor to evaluate the complete product and its labelling. Avoid treating a declaration for one ingredient as proof that the final blend is allergen-free. Additional ingredients and concentration changes can alter the assessment.
