Why Evaluate Terpenes in the Intended Base?
An aromatic ingredient is ultimately used within a larger system. A profile selected in one prepared format may behave differently when added to another base, particularly if dispersion or stability changes. Evaluating only the ingredient in isolation leaves that practical question unanswered.
Once suitability and evaluation conditions are established, compare samples in the relevant base and record the composition and process. Include an unmodified base as a reference where useful. This separates the question “Do I like this profile?” from “Does it work in the product we are actually developing?”
